One of the biggest advantages of travelling around the East Coast is how easy it is to combine several destinations into one holiday. Many of the major cities are connected by rail, making it possible to travel between them without the need for internal flights.

New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington DC work particularly well together, while Niagara Falls can easily be added to create a longer itinerary.

We generally recommend allowing at least two or three nights in each destination so you have time to explore properly rather than constantly moving on to the next stop.
